our vision

Our vision is to curate an ecosystem of support through family-centered restorative practices and programs. We have the audacity to believe that we can eliminate youth criminal justice involvement and family separation. Through partnerships, advocacy and outreach we empower those we serve.

who we are

Tomorrow's Promise Foundation seeks to divert children from systems and promote wellness and an upward trajectory in their lives. Understanding that to impact the youth you must also support the parents or caregivers in the home. TPF has taken a holistic approach to connect parents with peer support, parent coaching, direct services, referrals to services and systems education opportunities so they can successfully advocate for their families. TPF centers youth wellness through the lens of youth and offer a number of services in addition to the signature events such as positive youth development, youth coaching and peer to peer mentoring.

what we offer

Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation empowers youth and their families through mentorship, advocacy, and policy reform.

We envision a future where:

  • Families remain united.

  • Youth avoid justice system involvement.

  • Holistic, community-driven support is accessible.

We take a community-led approach to:

  • Prevent family separation.

  • Provide youth mentorship and leadership development.

  • Advocate for restorative justice policies.

  • Offer trauma-informed support to families.

Our key initiatives include:

  • Positive Youth Development: Mentoring, Recreation, Camping, Health & Wellness, Mental Health, Belonging

  • Family Preservation & Reunification: Restorative Practices, Family Peer Support, Support Groups, Health & Wellness

  • Advocacy: Policy training & legislative engagement.

  • Support Services: Systems Navigation, Referrals Emergency Crisis Relief.

  • Education: Scholarships, youth leadership training.

Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation offers annual signature events that are open to the public and historically have been primarily composed of vulnerable populations of youth and their families. Every year TPF hosts Spring/Fall Youth Camping Trips, Teach’em to Fish events, a Back2School Bash, Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays, Educational History Competition and graduating high school senior Scholarship.

Many families face barriers that lead to separation, economic hardship, and justice system involvement.

  • Lack of impactful resources.

  • Limited access to family support.

  • Youth face stigma and trauma.

  • Insufficient holistic solutions.

The need for Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation is evidenced by the US crisis of mass incarceration. 85% of juveniles in prison are from broken homes. Young men from broken homes are four times as likely to live in poverty and need emotional or behavioral help. Sadly, this same demographic is also plagued by food insecurity. 6.8 million youths ages 10 to 17 live in a household with limited or uncertain access to food. An unstable diet can have the consequences of malnourishment, which often leads to developmental problems that can affect everything from vital signs to mental health.

Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation seeks to reverse these statistics by solving for root causes.  We advocate for and provide resources to address housing and food insecurities. We introduce youth to programming that emphasizes trauma-informed restorative practices, peer to peer mentoring, mentor coaches, credible messengers and family resources. Responsibility, Accountability and Productivity (or what we refer to as R.A.P. Sessions).  We offer Positive Youth Development, Mental Health & Wellness workshops, Financial Literacy course as well as our signature programs that incorporate non-clinical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Advocacy

Advocacy is important to Tomorrow's Promise Foundation because it enables our organization to create lasting, systemic change that benefits the communities we serves. By promoting policies and reforms at local, state and national levels, w can address the root causes of issues such as family separation, disparities in the justice and child welfare systems, and barriers to resources for vulnerable populations.

Finish the Five

Right now, 17-year-olds in Texas are considered adults for criminal justice purposes. “Raising the age” refers to increasing the age of criminal responsibility from 17 to 18. That means that 17-year-old's will be under the jurisdiction of the juvenile justice system, unless a court finds they should be

sent to the adult system on a case-by-case basis.

We are a coalition of community and advocacy organizations, business and faith leaders, directly impacted people and families dedicated to expanding access to criminal record sealing so that people with justice involvement can get housing, employment, education and more without facing a lifetime of discrimination.

Amid the convergence of multiple crises in the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD), which have led to dangerous and inhumane conditions for approximately 600 children in its care, Texas lawmakers have the responsibility to do something radically different. Many other states and counties – and even Texas in the not-so-distant past – have successfully closed state secure facilities. Texas can and must take the transformational step to close TJJD’s five state secure facilities and do it right: commit to no new builds or transfers to the adult system. With smart investments, counties can provide children the resources they need to thrive outside of prison walls.
